What’s El Cerrito High School SAF?
El Cerrito Student Activities Fund (SAF) is the nonprofit 501(c)(3) (Tax ID# 91-1935426) that supports enrichment programs for the students enrolled at El Cerrito High School. The SAF helps to provide student club leaders, teachers, and staff with the monetary resources they need to fund academic, extracurricular, athletic, graduation, and other school-related activities. Serving El Cerrito High School Students for 20 years.
SAF funds and sponsors numerous school groups, called Sponsored Group Committees (SGC’s), so that they can fundraise and operate under our umbrella. The Sponsored Group Committees are:
Archiving Project, Alumni & Scholarship Fund, Boys’ Baseball, Boys’ Soccer, Speech & Debate, Girls’ Soccer, El Cerrito Music, Grad Night, Investing in Academic Excellence, James Morehouse Project, Mountain Biking, Girls’ Softball and Girls’ Volleyball.
SAF also administers monetary grants to anyone in the ECHS community for a variety of projects. Recent grants include:
- Restorative Justice and Mindfulness training to improve ECHS culture and climate.
- KECG Public Radio, one of only a few hundred high school radio stations in the entire U.S.A.
- Educational travel for the English Language Advisory Committee (ELAC) youth group.
