¡QUBA!
Monday, June 22 6:30pm
¡Quba! is a testament to the power of human connection, where LGBTQ dignity and performance become weapons of change. The dreams of generations finally bloom in the streets of Cuba, where humanity doesn’t just shine—it dances, it sings, it loves, and at last, it triumphs. Cuba becomes the only communist country in the to vote for marriage equality. The film stars Ramon Silverio and Adela Hernandez, leaders and artists who have organized this movement for over 40 years, along with younger activists in Las Isabellas in Santiago de Cuba. The evangelical church wind blows cold with machismo dogma and tries to extinguish what it cannot abide. But these artists made fire from their own light, fearless to transform pain into spectacle, living and loving openly, even loudly in Cuba. Their story has a lesson for the world
