Quest: The Truth Always Rises

A benefit for the Berkeley High Athletic Fund

Thursday, March 28 6pm

Join us for a special screening of Quest: The Truth Always Rises (2017) to honor the memory of Tim Moellering, Berkeley High School Teacher and Coach.

QUEST tells the story of a life-changing friendship between an abused 12-year-old graffiti addict struggling to tell the truth in a fearful world of lies, and his teacher, Tim Moellering, who believes there is no such thing as a bad kid — only a bad situation. Based on their own life stories, Quest was written by filmmaker, Santiago Rizzo and Tim Moellering featuring a musical score by Berkeley High School graduate, Dylan Mattingly, whose Opera, “Stranger Love”,  received glowing reviews after its premiere performance with the Los Angeles Philharmonic in May, 2023.  Quest is the first project Santiago Rizzo directed, honoring a promise he made to Tim Moellering before he died of pancreatic cancer in 2011.

“A true non-romantic love story highlighting a path to healing and empathy in a world of fear that’s withholding. “Lying might get you what you want in the short run but honesty will get you what you need in the long run.” -Tim Moellering
